Posted by zigyong on May 26, 2009

The Patanjali guru of yoga defined yoga as a one gently and comfortable state of spirit and Body. And, comfortable and balanced body and spirit are with precision what the yoga of practice delivers. Other forms of exercise increase the constraint on muscles of body, as well as, the condition for blood and oxygen. The asanas of yoga or maintenance’s decrease not only the need, decreasing the constraint on them, they also make slacken each muscle in the body. In the same way, the condition of the body for blood and oxygen go down, reducing making the constraint on the spirit and it stable and focused.

Moreover, torsions and the asanas or stretched maintenance’s of yoga oblige the bodies of the body, like, of the glands endocriniennes, digestive, the heart and other bodies with the function in an improved way. And, all this can be carried out with same simplest of the asanas of yoga!

Practised in India during centuries, this ancient practice is elaborate in the great detail in treaties and secondary-continental historical texts! As in differently, India starts to show in the world how to cure the spirit and  body, without resorting to the ingestion of the heavy amounts of toxic chemicals under cover of medicine, or with treatment of surgery and psychiatric expensive. The prevention is better than the treatment, and the yoga of practice prevents not only one individual of the patient in fall, it also helps to recover a healthy state of spirit and body!

Don’t Stress – Decompress

Posted by zigyong on May 24, 2009

In moderation, stress is actually a good thing. Stress motivates us to stay focused and alert and increases our productivity. One type of stress, eustress, is actually a necessary part of a balanced, meaningful life. Eustress is the type of stress we experience when falling in love, riding a roller coaster or participating in a risky activity or extreme sport. Eustress adds spice and flavor to our experiences, making us feel vital and alive.

Problems arise when life’s demands exceed our limitations and negates our ability to cope. This type of stress is called distress and can become an ominous threat to both our emotional and physical well-being. Stress impacts not only our bodies, but our thoughts, emotions, relationships and behavior. When we feel threatened, whether for our personal safety or our emotional equilibrium, our bodies rapidly respond – we are ready for “flight or fight”. Stress is both a physio-logical and psychological reaction to events that disturb our personal sense of balance.

Cholesterol Facts

Posted by zigyong on May 23, 2009

cholesterol_foods_fatsCholesterol is a waxy substance which is attached to greases in our blood circulation and is present in all the cells of the body. Cholesterol comes from the food of which we eat, as well as to be directly manufactured by the liver. Cholesterol is an important regulator in blood circulation, because it helps to as well as regulate the formation of many cells of the hormones. However, to have too high or so low of a cholesterol count in blood can be a very dangerous factor, often driving with an heart attack or a stroke.

The major part of cholesterol in our bodies comes from foods which we eat. The foods high in greases, in particular saturated and and trans fats, contribute to the high levels of the cholesterol of LDL. The meat and the dairy products are the primary sources of the cholesterol of LDL, whereas the leafy vegetables, fruits, and the nuts are more nutritive alternatives which have more raised cholesterol levels of HDL. While the genetics plays a part in cholesterol levels, a regime change is the most effective way to lower the dangerous cholesterol levels, and reduces your cardiac disease risk and of associated health issues.

Yoga – Physical and Mental Health

Posted by zigyong on May 7, 2009

Yoga may be called a modern trend by some but it is hardly so. Yoga has been practiced for well over five thousands years and is practiced by almost eleven million Americans today. Yoga is composed of two parts. The first part in which most of the western world emphasizes is the physical aspects but spiritual exercises play a large role as well.

The Downward Dog, Upward Dog, and Plank poses are examples of strength oriented yoga poses. The third benefit comes with the combination of the other two. As your muscle strength and flexibility increase your posture will naturally improve. This is a huge benefit for anyone who has an office job and are used to long periods of time sitting and slouching in their seats.

The Benefits of a Daily Dose of Milk Thistle

Posted by zigyong on May 3, 2009

When we take substances into our bodies such as alcohol, or the least obvious such as medications, our liver must work on removing its toxic properties for us. All of this work can often tax our liver. But there is a natural way to help strengthen your liver and it’s through the herb milk thistle. Milk thistle is a plant that is native to the Mediterranean region. Herbalists have used it for thousands of years. The plant has many names including Mary thistle and holy thistle, but its Latin name is Silybum marianum.

The milk thistle’s stem is tall, branched and furrowed but not spiny. The large, alternate leaves are waxy-lobed, toothed and thorny, as in other genera of thistle. The lower leaves are cauline (attached to the stem without petiole). The upper leaves have a clasping base. They have large, disc-shaped pink-to-purple, rarely white, solitary flower heads at the end of the stem. The flowers consist of tubular florets. The phyllaries under the flowers occur in many rows, with the outer row with spine-tipped lobes and apical spines. The fruit is a black achene with a white pappus.
